Happy 60th Anniversary: This Amarillo Business is Built to Last
Amarillo is growing, and changing, and with change, so many of our local staples are closing and ending a long era. It's so great to see the ones that stand the test of time. It doesn't come without struggles.

One of those Amarillo businesses has been in Amarillo for the last 60 years, and has been serving the people of Amarillo since 1965.
Reid's Appliances and Tools
Carl and Betty Reid opened Reid's Appliance Service in Amarillo in 1965. The business was originally located at 906 S. Georgia for the first 56 years.
After the building owners decided to move in a different direction, Reid's moved to their new location at 2467 West I-40 in Wolflin Square. They have been in this location for the last 4 years. According to David Reid, many people think the store went out of business. Many people still go to the old store location and see that it is gone, assume it went out of business, and don't search to find their new location. However, Reid's is open and still giving the same great service they have over the last 6 decades.
Reid's is the Place to Go in Amarillo for Appliance Service.
At the age of 92, you can still find Betty working in the store along with her son David Reid and grandson Blaze. David stepped in and has kept the family business running.
Reid's is an important part of Amarillo. They deal in major appliance parts and will help those who love DIY diagnose the problems and help you find the correct part to fix your broken appliance. They also do some small appliance repairs.
Reid's Sells and Repairs Milwaukee Power Tools
Reid's also sells Milwaukee power tools. They also service the tools. Usually, if your Milwaulkee tools break and it is under warranty, Reid's is the place you take them to for repair. Even if it is out of warranty they are the place to go to get your tool fixed. They are rated in the top 30 in the nation for Milwaulkeep tool repair. They try to do all the repairs in-house if possible, and not send them back to the factories.
They also represent over 40 different tool manufacturers when it comes to tools.
Not only do they do the above, but they also do cordless lawn and garden equipment, plus clipper repairs and blade sharpening. They are the only sales and service in the area for Oreck, and they also service Kriby, among other vacuum brands.
These are just a few of the things Reid deals in and fixes in Amarillo. Even if after 60 years you didn't realize Amarillo had a great appliance repair or you thought they went out of business, make sure you make a note for the next time you might need help with appliance repair, tool repair, or vacuum repair.
