Amarillo Beauty Expert and Icon Patti Stapp Passes Away

If at any point in the last 30+ years, you or your child were involved in beauty pageants, you knew Patti. If at any point in your career, you found yourself in front of a camera to bring the news to Amarillo, you knew Patti. She was the one who helped guide you through the process of makeup for TV or the graces of pageantry.

Patti owned First Impressions by Patti Stapp. If you needed make-up done for an important event like your wedding, or professional pictures, you may have reached out to Patti. She was an expert at enhancing a person's natural beauty.

Patti has worked with hundreds maybe thousands of people in Amarillo and many celebrities throughout the years. Those celebrities included Oprah Winfrey, Garth Brooks, Celine Dion, Billy Bob Thorton, Vince Gill, John Travolta, Adam Richman, Patrick Swayze, Halle Berry, Toni Braxton, Kathy Bates, Robert Duvall and that is just to name a few.

Patti was also the Executive Director of the Miss Amarillo Area Pageant for 15 years. In that time, two of Miss Amarillo's made it into the top 10 of the Miss America pageant.

Patti had been fighting a battle with pancreatic cancer and on Wednesday, July 12th, she lost that battle but gained her wings. At the time of publishing, the family had yet to release service and memorial times for Patti..

The family had set up a GoFundMe to help with hospital bills while she was in her battle with cancer. If you would like to help, the family would greatly appreciate the gift.
