'Tis the season for many things.  It's Christmastime in Amarillo. While people are planning parties, buying gifts, and giving, others are getting ready to lace up their running shoes and hit the pavement for a good cause.

If you are a runner, walker, or you just like to participate in events, here's your chance to have some fun, get a workout in and help out while wrapping yourself in that Christmas feeling.

What to Expect at the Santa Run

Grab your running or walking shoes, bundle up and sign yourself and your family up for the Santa Run. Here's a chance for you to enjoy a morning running or walking to benefit a great cause. Join Randy's Shoes Outfitters for a run while supporting the Amarillo Area Toys for Tots.

Why the Amarillo Santa Run Matters

The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

The event includes:

  • 1-mile Fun Run
  • 5K Run

First-place prizes for Men's and Women's finishers.  The most festive costumed runner will also be awarded.

Santa Run Date, Time, and Location

The Santa Run will take place at 4280 Soncy Rd. on Saturday, December 13, with a start time of 8 am.

Cost to register:

  • 1-Mile Fun Run: $30
  • 5K Run: $30
