Scholastic is currently holding the Drive2Life contest, where students from 6 to 12 grade can make a storyboard or written script depicting a 30-second public service announcement or PSA. It's to spread awareness and prevent impaired-driving situations caused by alcohol, drugs or sleep deprivation. The PSA has to show how teen drivers and passengers can stay away from these situations.

The winner of the contest will be determined by if the entered PSA is original and creative, has the topic addressed, has a clear message and is well written. The winner will receive $1,000 and a trip to New York City where the PSA will be produced into an actual commercial. The runners up will be two 6th to 8th graders and two 9th to 12th graders, each receiving $500. The teachers of the winners will also get classroom subscriptions to Scholastic magazine for the 2014-2015 school year.

If wanting to participate in this contest, entries must be mailed to Drive2Life Contest, Scholastic Inc., 557 Broadway, Office 519, New York, NY 10012. They must be received by February 19th. Good luck to all the participants.
