After 8 months of  mic-on-mic competition, it all came down to this moment.

Last night, Seacrest held the card while we held our breath and with a dramatic pause, announced the winner of American Idol Season 10:

17 year old Scotty McCreery.  A country boy from a small North Carolina community who played baseball and bagged groceries before auditioning for Idol.  So, where do you go after you win American Idol?

No, not a trip to Disney World or a world tour, it's back to the classroom for Scotty.  He's got a test to take before he can graduate from Garner High School. Hope Scotty finds his way through all the Hollywood hype and stays true to himself.  Congratulations, Scotty
