Your Stanley Mug Might Be Hiding a Deadly Secret – Find Out What

These travel mugs are convenient because they keep your drink hot or cold for hours, upon hours.  One of those brands of travel mugs is Stanely.   I have a Stanley mug and I love it because I fill it with ice and water every single morning and I still have ice in it when I go to bed at night.  It keeps it cold that long.

Unfortunately, Stanley has issued a recall on their Travel mugs.

According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission, Stanley has issued a recall on their Stanely Switchback and Trigger Action steel travel mugs.

The mugs are being recalled because the mug's lid threads can shrink when exposed to heat and torque, causing the lid to detach during use, and posing a burn hazard.

These double-walled mugs were sold in 12 oz, 16 oz, and 20 oz sizes and in a variety of colors including white, black, and green.  They all came with a polypropylene lid.  You can see the Standly logo on the front and bottom of the mug.

The mugs included in the recall have one of the identification numbers printed on the bottom of the mug.

These mugs were sold between June 2016 and December 2024 and cost between $20 and $50.  They were sold through Amazon, Walmart, Dick's Sporting Goods, Target and other retailers.   

If you have these particular Stanely mugs you need to stop using them.
