This summer Texas temperatures are soaring, and with the excessive heat it’s even more important to maintain a hydrated healthy body. Yes we all know that drinking plenty of water during the dog days of summer prevents dehydration, which causes fatigue, headaches, skin problems, muscle cramps and even low blood pressure and a rapid heart rate.  Untreated dehydration can lead to serious complications like organ failure.

Experts recommend drinking several glasses of water a day to meet your body type’s hydration needs. Health authorities commonly recommend eight 8-ounce glasses, which equals about 2 liters, or half a gallon.

Water isn’t the only that that can help your body stay hydrated during the hot West Texas summer.

Here is a list of 12 water rich foods that help your body quench its thirst.
