How unusual for something to open with such flavor and hype, to close so abruptly. The food truck was Street Scene Hibachi. What led to the food truck's closure?

  • Last post on Facebook was March 20

Why Street Scene Hibachi Closed

After we initially shared the opening of Street Scene Hibachi, we stayed in touch with one of the owners, Christopher Padilla. Speaking with him recently, he shared that the business partnership had ended and that he had decided to move on independently. After the closure, Padilla moved quickly to reset everything for the return of the food truck. Switching things over isn’t easy or cheap when it comes to name changes, permits, and tax IDs.

Cross Road Hibachi Is the New Chapter

The food truck will be back and reopen as Cross Road Hibachi. Same owner. Same trailer. Same great food. Cross Road Hibachi will be located at the same location, 4515 S. Georgia. Padilla says he is aiming to open on Friday, April 17.

It’s still me and the same food,” Padilla said. “I’ve put a lot into Amarillo because I love this city. Cross Road Hibachi is going to be like I never left

Menu Favorites Returning to Amarillo

Here's a look at their hibachi-style menu options:

  • Bomb City Chicken – A local-inspired staple loaded with flavor
  • Panhandle Tenderloin – A hearty steak option for beef lovers
  • Downtown Sirloin – Another solid steak choice with bold hibachi flavor
  • Yellow City Shrimp – A lighter option that still brings the heat

All entrées come served with fried rice, mushrooms, zucchini, egg, and onions.

They also have a go-big-or-go-home item called the I-40 Combo, and it comes with chicken, sirloin, and shrimp on one plate.

Sounds delicious!
