Stuff The Bus To Support The High Plains Food Bank
The coronavirus pandemic has affected every aspect of our lives. For many people, that means having trouble just putting food on the table for their family. Now, more than ever, the High Plains Food Bank needs help stocking their shelves to make sure no one in the Texas panhandle goes hungry.
Now through Friday, May 1, the San Jacinto Christian Academy and the giving folks at Cardiology Center of Amarillo are working to Stuff A Bus full of donations. The bus is located on the San Jacinto campus at 501 S Carolina Street each day from 1pm to 5pm. Help the High Plains Food Bank by stuffing the bus with canned goods, non-perishable items, and paper products. You are also more than welcome to drop off a financial donation as well.
The High Plains Food Bank has been hit extra hard with the need for extra donations as well as the limits on how they could accept donations to their facilities. High Plains Food Bank is the clearinghouse and distribution center for about 185 feeding partners, all of which are non-profit (501C3) organizations including emergency food pantries, shelters, recovery centers, & other non-profits. Their network of feeding partners spans the 29-county service area to serve people facing food insecurity in their communities.
