There are so many things going on these days and being kind to others helps in every situation. It's been a rough couple of years with Covid. Growing up you learn two important things that should stick with you when you get older. Treat other's the way you want to be treated and if you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all.

Those are both simple and really need to be remembered. It doesn't matter what situation you are facing in life; use these two sayings. You have a bad day at work, remember these. You go to a store and have to deal with a lot of people, remember both. Oh and you go out to eat, think of the staff you are dealing with.

I was scrolling through Facebook recently and saw two different friends who have had two different experiences. One dealt with things like they should have and laughed it off. The other received a horrible message on their receipt at work.

My one friend went to a business that had a sign stating they were out of a certain size of cup. She didn't notice the sign right away and ordered the size they were out of. When she noticed the sign she laughed and preceded to order the smaller size after laughing a bit. The person taking the order apologized profusely. The response was basically if this is the worst thing she had to encounter in a day she is doing good. According to my friend, Kenja's post:

The poor guy said that he agreed, but that so many people had sped off and yelled at him...all because they were out of 44 ounce cups, something that he has no control over.
Y'all, I get it. We're all stressed to the max and trying to hold it together for the big things, and that one more little inconvenience sends us over the edge.
But the problem with this is that these are real people we're going off on, people who are just trying to make it through their day the best they can.
Give grace. Be kind. Put yourself in their shoes and ask yourself how you'd want to be treated. Then take your 32 ounce tea and try to have a good day.
This was not an isolated mean people post. I hate to say that. My friend, Tonya, faced meanness at her restaurant, Pescaraz. I don't get people who go out of their way to be mean. People and businesses are just trying to do their best with a shortage of employees and supplies. Give grace if you don't get your side of ranch so fast or a refill is forgotten. In the grand scheme of things your kindness goes a long way.

Luckily I have watched the outpour of support for this restaurant and other's facing mean people like this. The kindness really does outshine the hatred here in Amarillo. Please take a moment and think of other's when things don't go your way. Oh and remember if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything.
