One of the biggest and most fun times I had growing up was attending our big parades. Nothing against our parades here in Amarillo and Canyon, we have some great ones too. I just grew up in Chicago so they were just on a different level.

One of the biggest thrills would be being asked to travel to a big city to take part in their parade. You know like Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I am sure you turn that one on every year from New York City. You keep an eye out for your favorite float, your favorite balloon.

It's Thanksgiving and a big deal. This year you may recognize some other people. As Tascosa High School's Belles were asked to take part in it this year. What a huge honor. They will be making the trip to New York City to spend Thanksgiving with a few million people. This is what memories are made of.

So when you are working on preparing your big family meal on November 24th of course you will have the television on to catch this year's parade. Keep an eye out for the Belles.

Of course, a trip to New York doesn't come without expense. So they are working on raising the funds for the trip. This is where you can help out. There are several opportunities to get out and support these ladies.

This is Where You Can Do Your Part

  • Buns over Texas (34th and Bell) - Proceeds night

    Sept. 20: 6-8 p.m.

  • Bubba's 33 - Proceeds night

  • Texas Tea (34th and Bell) Car Wash
Sept. 10: 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.Take your dirty car by and let the girls get it clean for you.

So there are plenty of opportunities to help make this dream come true for the girls. Half the battle is being invited. They already got the invite. The other half is affording the trip. So here is where we can step in and help.
