Texas Gas Prices Hold Nearly Steady This Week

Everyone is scrambling in Texas to prepare for back-to-school. That means resetting bedtime routines, running dry runs of new pick-ups and drop-offs, and tackling the shopping list. Back-to-school is an expensive time of year. There isn't much relief in the gas price department. While we haven't seen any huge increases, we haven't seen any big decreases either.

According to AAA Texas, gas prices per gallon of regular unleaded this week average $3.63 per gallon. That is a one-cent drop from last week. El Paso is still paying the highest in Texas at $3.85 per gallon. McAllen is still paying the lowest at $3.29. The national average dropped 4 cents this week to $4.06 per gallon. Last year in Texas, drivers were paying 87 cents less than they are now.

Odessa Sees the Biggest Drop in Texas

Although Texas only had a one-cent drop, many Texas cities saw a double-digit drop. Odessa had the biggest drop at 24 cents per gallon.

Tyler: $3.57 - Last week: $3.59 - down 2 cents from last week
Abilene: $3.57 - Last week: $3.68 - down 11 cents from last week
El Paso: $3.85 - Last week: $3.99 - down 14 cents from last week
