She has been battling cancer for some time now and the "Queen of Disco" has passed away at the age of 63.

Donna Summer, 63, the "Queen of Disco" has passed away after her battle with lung cancer. The 5-time Grammy award winner  was working on her new album while in Florida when she passed away.

Her real name was LaDonna Adrian Gaines, born in Boston, Massachusetts and has seven brothers and sister. She started singing at a young age at church and then started a group with one of her sisters and her cousin.

In the 70's Summer was singing background vocals for "Three Dog Night." Then after meeting some producers who thought she would do just fine on her own, she began her mainstream success.

Coming out with #1 hits such as "Love to Love You Baby, "Hot Stuff" and "Last Dance," that is how Summer was deemed the "Queen of Disco." You can watch some of her videos below.
