It's that time of year to break your New Year's Resolution.  It's cookie time with the Amarillo Girl Scouts.  Get ready to spend your paycheck and your calories on all your favorite Girl Scout Cookies.

Girl Scout Cookie Sale officially start on Friday, January 14th.  Cookies will be $5 per box and $6 for the gluten free.  You'll have until March 6th to buy as many as you can.

Your favorites are back including, Thin Mints, Shortbread, Peanut Butter Patties, Lemonades, Peanut Butter Sandwiches, Caramel Delights, and Toast-Yays (the new cookie from last year).   Don't forget the Gluten Free Carmel Chocolate Chip.

This year the new cookie is  Adventurefuls, which is described as,

An indulgent brownie-inspired cookie with caramel-flavored crème and a hint of sea salt.

Excuse me while I wipe the drool from my mouth.

I'm ready for Girl Scout cookie season because my son found my Thin Mint stash that I had buried in the freezer, and he ATE them all!

Don't forget when you purchase Girl Scout Cookies, you are helping out an amazing group of girls.  According to Stephanie Pena,

Girl sell cookies to use their profit for camp, a community service project their troop is doing, for a troop trip, or at the Girl Scout Store. This is each girl’s Cookie Business. They set a goal of how many cookies they want to sell for whatever their plan is to use the profit. They place the order, and they make the sell. They are responsible to create change for purchases to help with math skills. Every detail of “their business” is their responsibility. We are creating future women business leaders.

If you're looking for these delicious cookies, just pay attention as you are driving, 9 times out of 10 you'll find a car parked in a parking lot that had Girl Scout Cookies shoe polished on it and people standing by their open trunk with boxes of cookies.  You could just ask around at work, because I'm sure someone has a daughter or granddaughter selling them.  Girl Scouts also have links to where you can buy online and get them delivered or direct ship.  Or you can use the cool Cookie Finder App downloadable from the Apple Store or Google Play.

Want to send cookies to  soldiers and first responders, then check out the Girl Scouts Cookies for Heroes!

According to Jennifer Auburg, Product Program and Customer Experience Retail Coordinator-Amarillo Area:

the first initial order of cookies was 13708 cases = 164,496 packages.

This was the first order!  Which means a second will follow.

I don't know about you, but I cannot wait to buy my first box of Girl Scout Cookies this year.
