A Look Back at Toot’n Totum’s History
Toot'n Totum opened its very first store in 1950 at 15th and Washington. If you were ever curious about where the name came from, back when they first opened, customers would pull up and honk their horn, hence the "toot". Then the clerks would bring out their order, in other words, tote, hence the "Totum".
Little did they realize 75 years ago that would once again be the norm in the world, minus the "toot"; now it's all done through an app.
