One of the most anticipated events in Amarillo is the Amarillo Tri-State Fair. While many attend for the food and rides, others live for the rodeo. One of the biggest rodeos just happens to be at the Amarillo Tri-State Fair each year.

The PRCA Rodeo takes place on Thursday, September 24 - Saturday, September 26.

On Thursday night, you don't want to miss out on Date Night Under the Fair Lights. Grab your sweetheart, come eat some fair food, ride some rides, and then go enjoy all the rodeo action.

The Amarillo Tri-State Fair PRCA Rodeo does require separate tickets to attend. Prices start at $27 per ticket and include gate admission. Don't miss discount night, happening Thursday night.  Purchase tickets for the PRCA Rodeo here.

What Other Rodeo Events Are Happening at the Fair?

That's the main rodeo, but the Amarillo Tri-State Fair has other rodeo events happening during the week.

Don't miss one of the coolest and cutest events, the Mutton Bustin Mania.  It's kids who think they can hold on for dear life to a sheep as it takes off across the arena. If you have a child between the ages of 4 and 7 who is 65 pounds or less, sign them up to participate. Registration begins at 5 pm with a $20 entry fee. If you just want to watch, the Mutton Bustin starts at 6 pm in the Amarillo National Center. Those who qualify will participate in the PRCA rodeos.

Sheriff Stockyard Showdown and Fiestas de Charros

On Saturday, you can enjoy the Sheriff Stockyard Showdown Ranch Rodeo. Come support the Potter County Law Enforcement Association, and watch deputies and rodeo teams compete in trailer loading, branding, wild cow milking and stray gathering. The rodeo begins at 7 pm. Tickets are $22 and include gate admission. Purchase tickets here.

Don't miss out on the Fiestas de Charros Rodeo at 3 pm on Sunday, September 20.  The event will pay tribute to the Mexican vaquero heritage. The event will include Escaramuza Charra, dancing horses, Cala de Caballo, folkloric dancers, and a live mariachi band. Tickets start at $35 and include gate admission. Purchase tickets here.
