It was three years ago, on February, 25th 2017, at the Criterion in OKC, Turnpike Troubadours invited Kaitlin Butts on stage to sing their song "Call a Spade a Spade. The crowd loved it, we do too.

The year that this was recorded Turnpike Troubadours released one of the best country albums of 2017, A Long Way From Your Heart -- it was released nearly two years to the day after their critically acclaimed self-titled album. In June 2019 the band announced an indefinite hiatus, read more on that here. Since then Kyle Nix released a solo project, Lightning on the Mountain and Other Sort Stories, and Even Felker has gotten sober.

We named Butts' debut album, Same Hell Different Devil, to our best albums of 2015 list, and her single "Don't Push It" landed inside our "Top 21 Most Favorite Texas and Red Dirt Singles of '16." While we haven't heard a lot from her recently she did release "White River" as a single last year. And this weekend she and Flatland Cavalry frontman Cleto Cordero will be tying the knot, we certainly wish them all the best. Congrats, you two!
