The first instrument I learned to play was the violin.

I wanted to play the drums, of course, but my parents thought that the violin would be a better fit (and less noisy).

Whatever the cost was to buy my entrance into the world of music was a lot cheaper than this violin that is up on the auction block at Christie's.

The auction house is currently taking sealed bids on this 1731 Stradivarius which had been laying dormant in the closet of Heiress Huguette Clark for the past 25 years.

The major question: What makes this violin so special?

A Christie's musical expert says that this instrument was first owned by renowned concert violinist Rodolphe Kreutzer.
