Pit Bulls and Parolees, an Animal Planet reality TV show, has recently been renewed for a new season, which will be its fifth since its debut in 2009. The show follows the Villalobos Rescue Center, which is currently stationed in New Orleans, Louisiana, and the founder, Tia Maria Torres, as she rescues Pit Bulls, trains them and searches for their forever home with the help of her family, volunteers and parolees.

The new season premiered November 2 and new episodes continue to come out every Saturday at 10 PM/ 9 PM. This new season seems to be the season for more successful rescues, bittersweet adoptions and reappearances from old friends. Already the Villalobos rescue center has taken in new additions, both Pits and Parolees.

Among the new recruits is Earl, a parolee who has already proven that he won't let any obstacles stand in his way. After injuring his arm in a prison accident, he's more willing than ever to prove that he is capable of doing anything that the other workers can and takes on many jobs as he helps Tia and her family.

Overall, the new season of Pit bulls and Parolees will prove to be one of their best, with the crew finally being able to set in to their new more welcoming, but equally challenging location. The appeal of the show for most fans seems to be that the overall theme is that of second chances and endurance; although the cast has had constant disadvantages through out the run of the show, from large fires, unexpected snow falls and sudden floods, they always express an attitude of optimism that is admirable.

The show tries to be entertaining but also sending a good message, unlike other reality TV shows. If haven't seen it already catch it on Animal Planet. If you love dogs and underdog stories, you'll surely become a fan. Here's a clip below.
