This Amarillo Food Truck is Unhooking the Trailer and Calling It Quits
If you are an aficionado for great food, then you've probably had your share of dishes from Wild Bill's Fillin' Station.
Wild Bill's Fillin' station has been a part of Amarillo for 13 years. They had their original restaurant on historic Route 66, 3811 SW 6th Ave.
As with most businesses they struggled through Covid. The restaurant closed its doors in January 2021. After the restaurant closed, they leased the kitchen at the Elks Lodge until the last day of 2021. The Wild Bill's Food Truck adventure began in 2022. As with most food trucks they were able to move from one location to another. Most recently they were set up at 451 E. Loop 335 S.
Wild Bill's Fillin' Station had some of the best burgers and chicken fried steak. It was a place to get some good greasy down-home cooking. Not only that, they also had a great breakfast menu.
However, with everything all good things must come to an end and Wild Bill's is closing the business.
It is a sad day in the burger world as we put up our ball and hitch and close this chapter of the Wild Bills food trailer.
I'm sure this decision wasn't made lightly, it is tough to let go of something that you have poured your blood, sweat, tears, and heart into.
Wild Bill's throughout the years became the place to go to enjoy live music and a great meal whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It was a perfect place to go on the weekends. It offered indoor and outdoor seating. You truly could get your kicks on Route 66 at Wild Bill's. It was sad when they closed the doors, but luckily, the food was still available from their food truck.
Good luck in your future endeavors. This place will be truly missed.
