Scooters!

If you have ever been to a bigger city or other university campuses, you have probably seen these electric scooters just randomly parked.  Well, these are community scooters and are able to be used by anyone.

WTAMU has just gotten these e-scooters.  They are Bird scooters and this is how they work.

First you download the Bird app onto your phone, use the map to find a scooter or when you see a scooter, you scan the QR code on the scooter and you are ready to roll.  When you reach your destination, park and you're done.

There is a charge to use the scooters, it's a $1 to unlock, and you will pay per minute. It's a great way to get to and from your classes on campus and hopefully help you from being late.

Not only can you zoom through campus on these scooters, you can zoom through the City of Canyon.  Yes!  You will be able to find these scooters on campus, but you'll also be able to find them and use them throughout the City of Canyon.

How cool is this!

I love the idea of students or residents being able to hop on a scooter and zoom down to Sonic, or zoom to the coffee shop.

I spent most of my time on the WT campus walking from here to there and back, and if I wanted to go somewhere in Canyon, I had to drive or walk a very long way.

This is amazing for students especially with the campus growing.

There are some areas where the scooters aren't allowed, but thanks to technology, the scooters are programed (geofencing) to where if you try to go into these areas, the scooters won't allow you.  So just be aware if you're zooming through campus or Canyon and you try to go somewhere and the scooter stops, you have entered an area where they aren't allowed.

Enjoy zooming WT and the streets of Canyon!

To be extra safe, students can pick up free helmets at the University Police Department.

LOOK: See how much gasoline cost the year you started driving

To find out more about how has the price of gas changed throughout the years, Stacker ran the numbers on the cost of a gallon of gasoline for each of the last 84 years. Using data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (released in April 2020), we analyzed the average price for a gallon of unleaded regular gasoline from 1976 to 2020 along with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for unleaded regular gasoline from 1937 to 1976, including the absolute and inflation-adjusted prices for each year.

Read on to explore the cost of gas over time and rediscover just how much a gallon was when you first started driving.

Where the Cast of 'Yellowstone' Would Be From If They Lived in TEXAS

Suppose the characters of 'Yellowstone' were all Texas natives..What town do you think they'd be from?

Well, Therese from Crown B Ranch took a stab at this fun "what if" game and the results are hilarious.

Agree or disagree, you have to admit that this is one heck of a fun debate to have with fellow Yellowstone fans.
