This center will be located at 4604 SW 45th Ave.  It will be between Good Day Burritos and what was going to be the Joaquin's Convenience Store, which was open for a very short time.

Champion Car Wash called this location home for decades until it was closed and recently torn down.

According to the licensing department, this will be a pre-engineered metal building that will be divided into separate spaces for retail or office use.

This is an excellent location for any business. Good Day Burritos always has a line, Red River Steakhouse is usually busy.  Surprisingly, the convenience store didn't succeed despite being located on a main road in Amarillo, a prime spot for any business. This new shopping plaza will change the landscape of this area.

It is estimated to be completed by June 2025.

This new shopping plaza is situated in the Ridgecrest neighborhood and across from the start of the Western Plateau neighborhood. Perhaps we'll see the opening of a new hair salon or nail salon. It's also possible that new boutiques or businesses seeking office space could set up shop here. It could bring another amazing coffee shop.  Whatever it may be, it will surely be a great addition to the neighborhood.

Amarillo's Cursed Buildings – Historic Route 66, 2813 SW 6th

There are some places around town that just can't seem to stay in business for very long. This is one of them.

The address of the cursed building is 2813 SW 6th Street. This building was originally built in 1930. This place was originally a service station. I'm sure in the heydays of Rt. 66, this place was the place to stop to get your car serviced. However, in the last 15 years, this building has seen many different faces.

So what all has been in there? Let's take a look back at 715 S. Polk.

This building was originally built in 1915, it was known as The Hollywood.
