5 Ways To Keep Mosquitos Away This Summer
This rain has been so amazing lately! But with the rain comes the mosquitoes. They are pesky little creatures. But here are five simple ways that can help keep them away.
Mosquitoes are usually not a wanted creature. As a matter of fact, they are just a pest. My son is super allergic to their bites, so I am always trying to find ways to keep them away. Here are five pretty simple ways to keep them from biting.
1.) Lavender
When you are trying to relax, lavender is a scent that a lot of people use. It is soothing but mosquitoes hate it! To keep mosquitoes out of your home, just add a drop of lavender to ribbon and place around open windows. The mosquitoes will steer clear.
2.) Rosemary
To me, it seems that mosquitoes are worse while we are barbecuing. Here is a simple trick to help keep your barbecue mosquito free. Throw some rosemary on the grill. Not only will it turn your barbecue into a natural mosquito repellent, while also adding delicious flavour to your food! Just throw it right on the hot coals.
3.) Eat Garlic
Nobody likes garlic breath, lol. Well, neither do mosquitoes. After eating lots of garlic, garlic oil is gently released from your pores. This garlic oil acts almost like a barrier between your skin and the mosquitoes.
4.) Eliminate Standing Water
Anytime there is standing water, that is just a nursery for mosquitoes. They breed and thrive in water. So walk around your yard and get rid of any water collected in buckets or puddles.
5.) Mosquito Repellant
You can get all kinds of repellants at the store. From sprays to candles and everything in between. Get stocked up!
These are just a few ways to repel mosquitoes. Do you have any remedies that you have tried and work? We'd love to try something new.
