Do you feel happier when you are out in nature? Whether it is walking around Medi Park or Palo Duro Canyon being out in it is best for you. The sunshine just makes you come to life.

A new study found that the closer you live to nature the happier you actually are. You are happiest if you are within walking distance of parks or other open areas. You end up having higher levels of self worth and overall life satisfaction. All because you live near nature.

Living close to nature also can have a big impact on your mental health. Don't you just feel more at ease and a calming coming down on you as you are outdoors. Whether you see a lot of trees, birds or even flowers it can have a positive effect all around.

The biggest key is that you have to be in walking distance. So consider yourself lucky if you live out in Lake Tanglewood or at the edge of Palo Duro Canyon. Just the ability to walk out your front door and being able to breath in that fresh air and go for a walk has the biggest impact on your health.

Even if you don't live near the big parks...just being able to get outside and to even a school park will help you on your way to a healthy lifestyle. So leash up the dogs, haul them in your car and head out to a park. Take them out for a walk. You will feel such a relief.

Having a reason to get out in nature is what we all need right now.
