Can we just all agree that 2020 has been pretty disappointing? I mean a lot of things we have missed out on. A lot of our live sporting events have turned to cheering from home. Our graduations, proms, birthday parties and weddings have not looked the same. I mean if they even happened.

So as we are getting later in the year is it OK to have any type of in person celebration? Yes, if you plan for it the right way and take extra precautions.

First of all if you do anything it is safer to hold your get together outside. Open air is much better for not breathing in stale air that may have been infected with the virus. So hold it in your backyard or even at a park.A get together at John Stiff Park seems much safer than in a party room right now. Outdoors is definitely the way to go in 2020.

If you will be having food at your event make sure it is not buffet style. Too many hands on serving spoons is not the way to go right now. If you can serve food that is individually wrapped that people can just grab and sit down that is your best option.

As you have your guests seated again make sure they are socially distanced. Tables are spaced out. Plenty of walking space. I mean its a party that we don't want to have to worry about the repercussions.

Of course keep everything sanitized. Keep any common areas washed down. Provide hand sanitizer and even extra masks in case they are needed. Who would have ever thought that 2020 would be the year of handing out face masks as a party favor?
