There's a reason I picked the cover image I did for this story, for starters this was the moment after the 23-16 loss that Patrick Mahomes sent Tom Brady home to in December of 2019. The Patriots would eventually go on to lose in the wild card and their Super Bowl dreams were dashed. Brady would move on and head south to a sunnier climate. Mahomes would go on and win his first one against the 49ers. This is also the first photo of Patrick Mahomes who would go on to win against Brady in their last two appearances.

Is it a battle for the ages? Sure... If you want to call it that, The old GOAT vs the New GOAT.

Hang on, let's take a step back here, If you ask me It's too early to call Mahomes the GOAT. one ring and one Super Bowl MVP in a career and the highest salary among NFL QB's does not make a greatest of all time. Brady has 6 Rings and 4 by the way. Does that make me a Brady homer? Not necessarily...

Both of these guys have something to prove. Mahomes needs to show KC why he deserves that check day in and day out. He puts in the work. He has the skills to win and has shown he can beat Tom Brady. Mahomes is New School. He is championing the new face of the NFL and the stakes are high. For a lot of us here in Texas he's one of us... a Tyler Texas native, growing up in the shadow of the Tyler Rose himself Earl Campbell and he doesn't forget where home is. Watching him play is pure magic because he genuinely looks like he is enjoying himself out there.

Brady doesn't need much introduction. He is for all intensive purposes one of the all time GOATs, He is the old guard... If he couldn't spend another year on the New England Patriots he brought a few of them to Tampa Bay with him... yes... he brought back "Yo Soy Fiesta" Rob Gronkowski out of retirement. He took over the locker room and commands respect from his teammates. Brady singlehandedly proved to everyone this year that his success is his own and wasn't just Bill Belichick. He is a hall of famer no matter what the outcome is Sunday. But a win would solidify his moving on from New England, A loss throws it all away. He's playing for pride. He has to prove that despite his humble beginnings (Remember when he was a scrawny non first round pick?) He wants to go out on top. He knows Mahomes can go a few more rounds, while this may be his last hurrah...

The stakes couldn't be higher...

So who's gonna win? I'll let you figure that one out. Me personally... America wins because we get a great matchup.
