The store opened at 6 am on Monday, December 16th to a line of customers excited to see Buc-ee for the first time. The Buc-ee's store opening has been in the works since 2022 and it originally had an anticipated opening date of February 2025.  However, the powers that be at Buc-ee's gave Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle a surprise Christmas present.

The anticipation was almost too much for some waiting patiently to get their brisket sandwiches, Beaver Nuggets, and Buc-ee's Amarillo t-shirts.  Some even showed up a week early only to find the doors closed, but they sure weren't on Monday, December 16th.

This will be a day to remember in Amarillo for decades to come!

Buc-ee's has long been a favorite stop for Texans and has recently expanded beyond the Lone Star State. For many of us in Amarillo, visiting this enormous store meant traveling 5+ hours or more. But with brisket, Beaver Nuggets, beef jerky, and cheap gas, the drive was always worth it.

Now, Amarillo residents no longer have to make the long trek—Buc-ee's is just a short 15-minute drive away!

What a wonderful addition to Amarillo and the Texas Panhandle.  This will be a most loved store for decades to come!
