Amarillo Dentist Sentenced To Four Years In Federal Prison

Michael Goodwin of Goodwin Orthodontics has been ordered to serve 4+ years in prison and 3 years of supervised release.

He is also ordered to pay $1.8  million in restitution due to the false medicaid claims he filed, which added up to hundreds of thousands of dollars.

The investigation started last year after claims were made that Goodwin Orthodontics was turning in false statements to the Medicaid office. When medicaid would check on the patients about there procedures they noticed some of the dental work was never done but reported.
