Amarillo is a famed drug corridor, thanks to Interstate 40 and Interstate 27. There are countless news stories that report hefty amounts of cash, drugs, and weapons found during the course of an arrest.

Most of the time, these large-scale busts are carefully arranged by law enforcement and they come out with a suspect or two (or three....) in custody.

But then you have the occasional event where there's no suspect to be found.

On May 24, 2022, law enforcement conducted a K9 sniff search on a bus out of Los Angeles at the Greyhound bus station downtown. Guess what they found in some luggage in the cargo?

Six tightly wrapped bundles of methamphetamine that weighed in at about 46 pounds--that's well worth a street value of about $2 million.

The DPS said they did not have a suspect at the time. Me thinks there won't be anyone coming to claim the luggage any time soon. But who knows? People do tend to surprise you around these parts.

The drug bust with no suspect is hardly the first big bust that went down in 2022. Keep reading for the biggest contenders of the year.
