In every Christmas movie about a small town, you always see a skating rink.   It's either where the couple first look into each other's eyes and fall in love, or it's where the person and love interest take the kids to have some fun.

That is exactly what pops into your head when you hear that Borger is getting an ice skating rink.  Yes, you read that right.

Borger is getting an ice skating rink for the holidays.

A winter wonderland is coming to Borger with all the twinkling lights and Christmas decorations.

The Christmas Ice Skating Rink will open on December 11th.   Borger isn't building a new building or a permanent rink.  This will be a temporary setup inside The Dome.

You may be asking, how can they set up an ice skating rink at the dome?

It's the same technology the Amarillo Civic Center uses when they put down the ice for the Amarillo Wranglers or Disney on Ice performances, and then remove it for a concert.  Hmm, I wonder if you'll be able to get a ride on the Borger ice skating rink Zamboni?

The skating rink will be open to young and old and in between.  If this will be your first time on the ice, you won't be alone, and who knows you might find romance with someone offering a helping hand when you fall on your rump.   As you are learning, just remember "toe pick".

Maybe, you've found your one and only, it'll be a fun learning experience, laughing and falling with with your entire family while making Christmas memories.

The ice rink will be open from December 11th - January 4th.

  • Sundays: 10 am - 5 pm
  • Monday-Thursday: 10 am - 8 pm
  • Friday and Saturday: 10 am - 10 pm

They will offer day passes or 1-hour passes.  Want to host an ice skating party?  Party rentals will be available.

Not only will you get to enjoy ice skating this holiday in Borger, but Santa will be at the Christmas skating rink on the weekends.  Vendors will also be on-site to help with your Christmas Shopping.

Get ready to make some Christmas magic with your family.  Lace-up those skates and get ready to glide and twirl (or hold onto the ledge).

Don't worry about skates, you'll be able to rent ice skates at the rink.  However, the outfit will be your responsibility.

Borger is known for doing quirky fun things in their city.  Each year they turn Main Street into a beach.  Why not an ice skating rink in The Dome?

Mark the calendar and get ready for December on Ice in Borger.

The Charm of Main Street and Downtown Borger, Texas

This once-lawless Wild West boomtown is now a quiet town of 13,000 nestled in the Texas Panhandle. Located 40 miles north of Amarillo and 13 miles from Lake Meredith, the city of Borger is your typical small town. Friendly faces and warm greetings will surround you as you stroll down Borger's Main Street--a trip we highly recommend you take at least once in your life time.

Former Borger Gem, Neumann and Company Building for Sale

This historic building is at 503 Main St. in the heart of downtown Borger. You enter the front of the building through beautiful wooden doors into a large open layout perfect for a boutique. The building still has the original pressed tin ceiling tiles and hardwood floors. Plus, although not functioning, this building is home to one of the first escalators in Texas.

The back of the building is the cutest coffee shop, it has a full coffee bar set up. The building also has a basement and a second floor. It would be the perfect place for a business with the capabilities to have an office upstairs, an apartment, or a cute Airbnb.

The building is listed for $125,000 by Candace Summach with Exp Realty.
