Burlington Celebrates Amarillo Grand Opening on Soncy

It's always great to hear when new businesses make their way into Amarillo. It brings more convenience and options to the residents of the city and the entire Texas Panhandle. Amarillo is a hub, and the more options for shopping, the better.

Back in April, we announced that the former Circuit City and Conn's building would be undergoing a facelift and would welcome a new tenant. Now the new business is ready to open its doors.

When and Where Is the New Burlington Opening?

The new Burlington’s official address is 2510 S. Soncy. They will be nestled up against Home Depot, across the way from Kohl's, and Sam's Club behind them.

Burlington's grand opening is on Friday, August 15. The first 100 people through the door on Friday, August 15, and Saturday, August 16, will receive a $10 Burlington bonus card.

They have been hosting job fairs over the last few weeks and are geared up to open the new location. Burlington is no stranger to Amarillo; they have their original Amarillo store at 2201 S. Western. It doesn't look as if that store will be closing; this will be an additional store in Amairllo.

Burlington announced back in 2024 the addition of 100 new stores across the country by the end of 2025. Amarillo was one of the cities picked for a new Burlington.

Burlington isn't the only store moving into Amarillo. As Amarillo continues to grow, new businesses are moving into the Yellow City.

Other New Businesses Coming to Amarillo

DD's Discount announced that they were moving into Amarillo and the old Big Lots storefront on Grand.

ACE Hardware returned to Amarillo with a new store at 34th and Coulter in the Summit Shopping Center.

Long John Silver's recently opened in Amarillo, bringing back a fan favorite that had been missing for over 6 years. Almost 2 weeks later, the lines for the drive-thru and front counter are still long. Plans are underway to open additional LJS locations in Amarillo.
