We are still months away from football season, but changes are already taking place for the upcoming fall season. The University of Oklahoma has announced that the team's assistant head coach and outside linebackers coach, Ruffin McNeill, is stepping down. The school says that McNeill is stepping away to care for is 85 year old father in North Carolina. The school is said to be actively searching for his replacement right now.

According to ESPN, the coach expressed that this was not an easy decision and one of the hardest decisions he has ever had to make. He also said that this is not the last you will hear his name associated with football. He is not retiring and has plans to return to coaching someday in the future.
