Independence Day is just around the corner. Luckily, you can find a bunch of fun 4th of July celebrations in the Texas Panhandle.  However, one city you don't want to sleep on is Pampa, Texas.

Pampa knows how to put on a 4th of July celebration. It's a day full of fun and fireworks.

Why Pampa’s 4th of July Celebration Stands Out

Every year, they try to do something unique to celebrate the holiday.  In 2023, they hosted viral star Back-Up Terry, who came to help celebrate the 4th of July.

This year, Pampa is doing the 4th of July BIG.  Yes, they are having fireworks twice on the 4th of July.  They will be doing a show at noon and a show at 10 pm.

You may be asking how they can do a fireworks show at noon. There is a special type of fireworks that can make that happen. They are called daytime fireworks.

What are Daytime Fireworks?

Daytime fireworks are designed to be seen during daylight, using colored smoke and other visual effects. They even sound like the nighttime fireworks, bangs, pops, and sizzles.

  • Daytime Fireworks Show - Recreation Park - 12 pm

How to Get to Pampa from Amarillo

Pampa is 55 miles from Amarillo and takes a little less than an hour to get there, depending on how fast you drive.

Pampa is bringing a new twist to the 4th of July, and it is not something you see every day.  It's fireworks in the middle of the day, and it's a cool way to celebrate America's birthday in the Texas Panhandle. This 4th of July road trip will be worth it.
