Do Dinosaurs Celebrate Christmas? Find Out at the PPHM Christmas Open House
It's the most wonderful time of the year, but it's the most busiest time of the year, however, is it busy when you're having fun? It's time to take the kids down to Canyon and celebrate Christmas at the Panhandle Plains Historical Museum.
This event is one you don't want to miss out on because the kids will have a blast. Oh, and so will the adults. It's not only a great way to see the museum, it's also a great way to celebrate the holiday season.
With all the activities, it will definitely keep you busy. The Hazelwood Lecture hall turns into a snowy wooded forest. The kids can make some Christmas crafts or decorate your own Christmas snacks. Not only will they be able to do that, but local children's choirs will be filling the halls with beautiful Christmas carols. The Amarillo and Canyon libraries, will be telling Christmas stories. We cannot forget one important visitor that is coming to the museum and that is Santa! He'll be ready to find out what the kids want for Christmas.
The great thing about the Christmas Open House, is it helps out another one of our local organizations, the High Plains Food Bank. Admission into the museum for The Christmas Open House will be one can of food. This event has become the area's largest single event food drive for the HPFB.
And if all that wasn't enough, you'll have a chance to win prizes by participating in the PPHM social media contest. All you have to do is post a picture of your family enjoying the open house on Facebook or Instagram and tag it using #ChristmasatPPHM2021 or tag the PPHM in your post.
