Ever Wonder Why Casey James Grew Out His Beautiful Blonde Curly Hair?

Casey James is known for two things: him music and his beautiful blonde curls.  But have you ever wondered how he discovered he had curly hair?

Not only does Casey James have a list of awesome songs, but he also has a head full of beautiful long blonde curls.  I would even have to say that those locks are one of his trademarks.  But the story behind them is even better.

There is nothing more heart warming then seeing one of your favorite country artists do something amazing for a great cause.  In an Interview with The Boot, Casey James tells the reasoning behind growing out his hair-to help cancer patients.

"My family has been really affected by cancer," says James. "My Nana died of cancer, my Pawpaw passed away May 11 of last year of cancer. My mom is a two-time cancer survivor, breast and thyroid. That's just some of it; there are a lot of instances in my family."

So in order to do something great for the cause, he decided to grow out his hair and donate it to Locks of Love.  Locks of Love is a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada under age 21 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis, including cancer.

When he decided to do this, he didn't have a lot to offer so he thought this was the perfect gesture.

"When I grew my hair out to donate it, I didn't have money or anything else to offer," he says. "Then I went on 'American Idol' and it became an image thing, so it's one of those situations where I can't change it until people know who I am."

So is the singer ready to cut his hair?  I'm not sure, but one thing I am sure about it that people know who he is so he could cut it if he wanted to.  He is quickly growing a name for himself, locks or not.
