This is one of those things that just made me laugh as we left 2019 behind.

I don’t buy milk much. I don’t like it. I blame that on my mom, back in the day, using dry powdered milk and refilling a gallon jug growing up. I get it. I guess it was cheaper. Here I am though not having positive thoughts of milk. I have tried.

I really only buy it when I need to cook. I bought some at Thanksgiving time to make green bean casserole. I ended up throwing it out before I used it all. Oh and I only buy a half gallon.

So as we approached Christmas I bought another half gallon. You know in case I had a recipe call for it. I always look for the longest “Best By” Date. You know just in case I need it for something else.

I had plans to use it for a Christmas morning meal with scrambled eggs. Hey if I can keep the “best by” date as long after January the better.

I went and looked the other day. I had no idea that this was how Plains Dairy dated their milk. It made me laugh. I know I didn’t have expired milk in my refrigerator.

So I asked another friend to check his milk. This was his date too.

Confirmation that they just didn’t change the year to say 2020.

Thank you Plains Dairy for first a slight heart attack but then for a good laugh. Here is to a great 2020!
