For the past two years, people have not been legally allowed to pop fireworks. But the county ban has been lifted to allow fireworks to be popped inside the Potter and Randall County lines.

Recent rains are the reason there is no longer a firework ban in the Amarillo area. But, with the hot and dry forecast, officials are still worried there may be some negative repercussions. So far there have been a few fires around the city but nothing too drastic.
