First He Hit Two Deer And Then Hit The Lottery

A North Carolina man had a bad start to his day after hitting not one but two deer with his new car. Then things took an awesome turn for the better with some great news.

If you play the Mega Millions lottery, I’m sure you remember how last week the total got up to over a Billion Dollars which was won by a single individual who hit all six numbers. With a billion dollars on the line for hitting all 6 numbers, there were also some huge winners who hit five winning numbers. With that in mind, read on.

The North Carolina Education Lottery said in a statement that..."Anthony Dowe of Leland, North Carolina had an accident on his way to work, when he hit two deer in his new car & it ruined his day so he went back home, got into bed and went to sleep."

Anthony described what happened next...“Then I woke up and checked my tickets. I checked the fourth ticket and I saw the ‘4' and then the next number and the next number and the next number, he said. I’m like, ‘Wow!’ It was just crazy.”

He had played a Mega Millions ticket and won by matching all five white balls. That alone is an incredible thing to do. The odds are 1 out of 12.6 million.

He said “I went and showed my dad and my mom and everybody was happy,”.

Dowe took his ticket to a store and found that he had won $1 million. That prize actually doubled when the 2x Megaplier ticket was drawn.

On Monday, he claimed his prize at the lottery headquarters in Raleigh and when all was said and done, took home about $1.4 million after taxes.

He said...“It just feels great. I’m just gonna fix things on my mother and father’s house and get my car fixed, pay it off, and pay my niece’s car off.”

The rest, he said, will go into savings.
