Fritch Residents Have Noticed People Hunting For….. Locusts And Grasshoppers?

People are hunting for locusts and grasshoppers outside of Fritch, its has residents scratching their heads as to why.

Just outside of Fritch some residents noticed what they thought was some nice people picking up the trash, or at least they thought that is what they were doing. Now that residents have found out what they are really picking up it has them scratching their head as to why.

"I hear other people saying that they catch grasshoppers," Fritch resident Frieda Maxwell told ConnectAmarillo.com. "I don't know why, I don't know what for, but that's just what I hear I've never seen them.

Maxwell also told ConnectAmarillo.com that they usually come in the summer months and mostly on the weekend. They first gather at a local Taylor's just outside of town and load up on some snacks and drinks then take off and load up on some locusts and grasshoppers.

This has some of the residents of Fritch wondering why would they be gathering insects for?
