6 Amarillo Senior Pets Who Need A Home for the Holidays
The holiday season is about family and friends... and that includes our furry friends as well. Please don't give a pet as a gift unless you and the recipient are prepared to add a new addition to your family. Many animals are surrendered and abandoned after the holiday season. This time of year is also hard on senior animals looking for a new home. While puppies and kittens are exciting, there are many great senior pets that need a home. Check out some of these little guys and gals looking for new homes this season.

Peanut
Pit Bull TerrierPeanut is an 8 year old Pit Bull Terrier. His owners didn't want him anymore, so Animal Control had Peanut. We rescued him from Amarillo Animal Control. He is now safe and available for adoption at our shelter. Peanut seems to be a very friendly boy; sweet as can be. We don't have a lot of history on this good looking dog, so we don't know about house training. He may need instruction in a new home environment. Appears to get along with other dogs at the shelter. We would recommend crating at night and if left alone during the day. If interested in Peanut, please call the Amarillo SPCA at 806-622-0555, or visit the shelter at 11901 S. Coulter.
