The left lane of I-27 was closed in both directions last night at 7 pm and reopened at 6 am this morning. However, the overnight closures will continue through Wednesday, with the left lane closing each night again. The purpose of this closure is so crews can place concrete barriers.

What Happens During the Wednesday Traffic Switch?

Then on Wednesday, August 12, traffic between McCormick Road and South Loop 335 will shift onto the new concrete pavement. This slow-roll operation will cause traffic to move slower, but it will make for a safe transition to the new configuration.
