It took me a little while to gather my thoughts today. Today is actually a couple of things, for those of you who keep Christmas in your heart, it is the 12th day, The Epiphany... It was also the day congress was supposed to certify the electoral vote...

Honestly, I don't want to buy in to the fact that 2021 may become a total disaster of a year.... We're only 6 days in to this year... My thinking is we're witnessing 2020's bad hangover. That has to be all that this is... or at least so it seemed this morning, Yes Amarillo has had a rough few days with crime and fire, and yeah.. COVID, its still a thing... and then this happens...

For the most part here at the radio station all of us were glued to our TV sets watching the events in Washington unfold with a state of disbelief.

I don't want to make this political, and I know some folks will, and that's fine. what we saw in DC was a total cluster. I think the real reason I was angry, was not so much at the fact that it was happening, but because we have seen so much craziness over the year it has become so regular in nature that you almost don't react to it anymore.

My point is. It's OKAY to be upset, I get that. but it's not okay to project the anger on the process, this was a ceremonial vote. nothing that happens today with all the objections would have changed the out come. it was a lot of drum banging for in essence nothing. and it unfortunately cost 4 people their lives....

Real change doesn't come from protests, we've seen this before, and if the process is that corrupt, you continue to vote, sounds counterproductive, but it's not. you have to beat the system by using it.

Turn the anger into passion, passion for changing the system in the right way. tantrums get you nowhere... we're better than this. and yes... we will get through this.
