Thanksgiving is just days away. Soon, we'll all be traveling to see our family and friends or hosting them at our house. Things will start out okay, then we'll sit down to eat. It never fails that at some point, the conversation will take an awkward turn and the thin line between holiday dinner and full-blown food fight will begin to blur.

If you're from Texas, avoid this one topic at Thanksgiving dinner.

No-No Topics At Thanksgiving Dinner

There's an old saying about how there is a time and a place for everything. That goes double for conversation at the Thanksgiving table. It would be nice if we could just keep it to what we're thankful for and how happy we are to see each other. Unfortunately, that's almost never the case.

According to a study done by BetOhio, the worst topics at the Thanksgiving dinner table include:

  • Politics
  • Health
  • Religion
  • Money
  • Relationships
  • Work
  • Controversial News

Politics and religion are usually considered the big ones, for what should be obvious reasons. With a presidential election looming in the distance, shying away from talking about politics could definitely be something that ruins the holiday mood.

No one is ever excited about questions regarding when they're going to get married, who they're seeing, or when they'll have babies. Shy away from relationships. Nobody wants to hear about your wicked hemorrhoid, so maybe leave health out of it.

The Worst Thanksgiving Dinner Conversation Topic In Texas?

According to the study that was done, the worst topic to bring up at the table in Texas is Family Disputes.

According to 58% of Texans that were surveyed, this was the worst topic to bring up. It makes sense. No one wants to try and eat Nana's super-dry turkey while listening to family drama.
