Texas is a state full of talent. Just head over to the Guinness Book of World Records website and search for "Texas." You'll find an incredible list of insane feats accomplished by Texans who had the drive, the grit, and the guts to go all the way.

That even includes one cat who had a little something extra special.

Weirdest World Record Held By Texas? Most Prolific Cat.

Meet Dusty. Dusty was a tabby cat that lived in Bonham, Texas. Bonham is a small city with a rich history. It is one of the oldest cities in the Lone Star State. It's been home to several professional athletes, musicians, and even the infamous outlaw John Wesley Hardin is claimed by Bonham.

Unfortunately, Dusty the tabby cat, isn't a name that gets mentioned when you look up celebrities from Bonham.

It's unfortunate because Dusty accomplished something that is absolutely mind-boggling.

The Cat From Texas With Over 400 Kittens

You read that right. During her "breeding life" (which I feel is an awkward way of wording that) Dusty produced over 400 kittens. The exact number according to the Guinness Book of World Records is 420.

And to think you complain about your kids. My two don't seem so exhausting anymore.

According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Dusty was born in 1935. She would live a very long, and fruitful, life. The last time she gave birth was to a single solitary kitten in 1952. Needless to say, Dusty was a very special cat.

There are no statues of Dusty. You won't see parades being held in her honor. I seriously doubt we ever see her face on a stamp. That doesn't mean we can't be impressed and proud of the Texas tabby that holds the world record for being the cat who broke the dam on her gene pool.

Cheers, Dusty.
