It was a typical hot Amarillo day, except that it wasn't. The coolest thing happened. My coworker got a random text out of the blue from Haskell Morrison. If that name sounds familiar, it's because he is a 1983 Amarillo High grad. Yep, grew up right here in Amarillo.

What did this text say that got me to write a story? It turns out that Haskell is in this awesome Dallas yacht rock band called Champagne Yacht Club, and he was texting to let her know that they are making the trip to play a show right here in Amarillo.

The news is so fresh that it's barely hitting the venue's radar. They are booked at Hoots on Thursday, July 30, and you need to make sure your calendar is clear for this one.
