One thing that many seem to talk about is the dating scene in Amarillo. Now, it's not something I can speak on from experience. I'm so far removed from the dating scene you could call me a dinosaur in that world.

So much so that I saw Tinder for the first time just the other day when someone I knew was messing around on it. It's...interesting to say the least.

Technology has definitely changed the way the dating scene is. With so many of us buried in our phones all the time, we don't tend to communicate well with others when out in the world, so striking up a conversation can be tough for some.

However, those dating apps are full of either fake profiles or people who say they're one person, but end up being a totally different person. Easy to hide behind a filtered photo I suppose.

Well in my weekly checkup of Reddit, I stumbled upon something that a user decided to create. How about an Amarillo Dating subreddit?

So What Is The Subreddit All About

Well, it's exactly that. A place where people can essentially put a "profile" post up and let people come to them. The best part? It's not all about just one thing, it's built for all sorts of different types of dates.

According to the first post inside the subreddit, it's not just about finding a forever partner. Sure, it could turn into that, but it's also there for if you're just looking for someone to go to lunch with.

What Kinds Of Posts Are Allowed

From looking at it, there doesn't seem to be a limit as to the type of post you make or what you're looking for. So far, most people are just kind of throwing themselves out there to spur some conversation.

One user took the opportunity to ask if there was a place to find sugar daddies or mommas. Now, whether or not it was a serious post is the real question, but it shows there's no limits as to what you can be looking for on it.

How Active Is The Subreddit

Not overly active yet with posts, but it also just got started a couple weeks ago. I know it can be hard to find the time to talk to people, and a lot of people don't trust the dating apps, so I wanted to put it out there for those who may be interested.

I will say that out of the posts so far, there is a mixture of both males and females in there posting, so at least it's not one-sided. Go give it a rip if you want! Can't hurt right?
