Teachers in Amarillo Can Score Free Food and Big Deals This Week

It's something that should be celebrated more than once a year, but the teachers of Amarillo are getting their due this week. It's Teacher Appreciation Week, and there are specials and deals all around Amarillo for the teachers to take advantage of.

As I said, we should do this at least twice a year, considering everything they do for our kids, and let them know JUST how much we appreciate what they do. So here are just a few deals around the city for you to take advantage of.

Free Items & Big Discounts

Teacher Appreciation Week always comes with amazing savings and plenty of freebies for the teachers. Yes, you have to show a teacher ID and prove you're a teacher. As much as we like to say as parents we ARE teachers, that won't fly for these items.

While many are offering freebies and discounts, one Texas-based company is going further than just something free.

Where To Get Freebies & Discounts

We'll start with the company I mentioned above. Whataburger is throwing out free breakfast for teachers on Thursday, May 7. You can choose from a Breakfast Taquito, Breakfast on a Bun, or a Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit. That's not all, though. They're donating $1,000 grants to 60 teachers across the 17 states in which they operate to help fund things for the classroom. Big things from one of our favorite places in Texas.
