Jason Aldean was among the group of country stars performing at the 2018 ACM Awards in Las Vegas, Nev., on Sunday evening (April 15). Onstage, Adean gave a searing performance of his current single, "You Make It Easy," off of his eighth studio album, Rearview Town.

Aldean performed on a cozy set, lit by dozens of hanging lanterns. The stage had a repurposed look, with the steel guitar and drum sets mounted on stands made of pallets.

Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley of Florida Georgia Line, along with country singer Morgan Wallen and songwriter Jordan Schmidt, wrote "You Make It Easy." When Hubbard played the song for Aldean, he was shocked none of the song's writers wanted to cut the track for their own projects.

"You've got two acts who could have recorded it, but, somehow, they both gave it up," Aldean reflects. "It could have been a hit for either one of those guys, but, somehow, I ended up with it, which I appreciate very much."

The reigning ACM Entertainer of the Year headed into the 2018 ACM Awards, Aldean was nominated for Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year at the 2018 awards ceremony. Rearview Town, his newest album, dropped on Friday (April 13). He also led a tribute to the victims of the 2018 Route 91 Harvest Festival shooting at the top of the 2018 ACM Awards ceremony on Sunday, in which country artists came together to express their solidarity with the victims and survivors of the mass shooting.
