Johnny Cash’s Kitchen and Saloon Coming Soon to Nashville’s Lower Broadway
A bar and restaurant with Johnny Cash's name on it is coming soon to Nashville's Lower Broadway area. Johnny Cash's Kitchen and Saloon is expected to open this spring.
The 15,000-square-foot venue will be located next to the Johnny Cash Museum, which is on 3rd Avenue South, just off of Broadway. According to a press release, Johnny Cash's Kitchen and Saloon will take its cues from Cash and wife June Carter Cash's style of entertaining "by providing great, fresh food representing the best of what authentic, unpretentious Southern food has to offer."
The new bar and eatery is a partnership between Icon Entertainment and the John R. Cash Trust. They are collaborating with David Swett, owner of Swett's, a "meat and three" in Nashville, to create the menu.
"The impression Johnny Cash left on Nashville is indelible, and this venture further confirms that his presence will be a dominant force here for many years to come," says Icon Entertainment CEO Bill Miller. Adds Cathy Sullivan, a representative of the John R. Cash Trust, "Johnny Cash is still a vibrant force in the Nashville community and beyond. It is a fitting tribute to bring this unique venue where families and friends may gather in a way that brings new life to the Cash family style of entertaining.”
Johnny Cash's Kitchen and Saloon will be the latest in a long line of Nashville establishments bearing celebrities' names. The new restaurant will be across the street from FGL House (Florida Georgia Line's bar) and behind both Luke Bryan's 32 Bridge Food + Drink and Jason Aldean's Kitchen + Rooftop Bar. Bars created by Dierks Bentley, Blake Shelton and more are also nearby.
