Now, I know what you may be thinking, "getting a mammogram isn't a party."

Yes, it is super uncomfortable to have your boobs squished into a pancake, but the outcome is important.

Mammograms are important for detecting breast cancer early.

“Mammograms are a life-saving service,” said Curtis Reneau, BSA Harrington Breast Center Director. “Early detection of breast cancer results in improved outcomes and a reduced risk of life-threatening issues. Our study shows just how important mammograms really are for women in our area.”

So to encourage and celebrate mammograms, the BSA Harrington Breast Center will be hosting a Mammo Party this Saturday from 8am - 4pm at 1310 Wallace Blvd.   It's the perfect opportunity to get your yearly screening.

I read some scary statistics, according to the BSA National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers Committee, 71% of patients under the age of 50 diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020 had not previously received a mammogram.

If you are over the age of 40 you are encouraged to sign up for the Mammo Party here.

Once you have completed your mammogram you can enjoy some delicious Texas Tea iced tea, certified bra fittings from Dillard's, plus BSA is giving away a fun swag bag and other fun treats.  Not only that, you can enter to win a prize from Kendra Scott.

This is an opportunity to take a not-so-fun experience and turn it into a positive fun experience.

It's important to have yearly mammograms, especially if you are over the age of 40.
